Taste Test

Last year, Robbie's fur started falling out and we noticed that he was constantly scratching himself. If you patted him on the head, fur would be all over your hands and when we bathed him, he lost clumps of fur. It was awful. After many appointments to many different Vets, we realized he is allergic to corn. We changed his food to a different brand (salmon base) and within a couple of weeks, the shedding and scratching stopped and the fur grew back. Well, around Easter, it started again. We hope he isn't allergic to wheat too. So today I bought yet another brand (chicken vegetable base) and Robbie's taste test began - one tiny morsel of food, sniffed, licked, and played with for 15 minutes before it is deemed acceptable.

Poor baby. Maybe it`s glutene intolerance?

I think it must be. He will meet a new Vet next week - this one recommended my a friend. I hope we can finally figure it out...I know he's uncomfortable.

Same problem with our Labrador. She is allergic to chicken so we switched her to a holistic brand (from New Zealand) that was available in Malaysia.

Move to the Philippines - where the hell do you find holistic dog food in a country where animals are regarding as a life form just above, erm, bacteria?

After loading up on dog food in Singapore, transporting it back to Manila and then proceeding to run out.....we finally found a source.

Now moving to Taipei and luckily, on our recon-interview-for-jobs-trip, we found our new holistic brand readily available......and in 7 kg bags!

It's a nightmare when you love your dog this much :-)
