To See or Not To See Thru

There is a fine line between super sexy and trashy...I've been sitting on the fence, on more than one occasion. However, for my wedding, I want an atypical gown but I don't want to cringe when I look at my photos next year. What do you think?

I still like the one below on the right the best. It is sexy with the deep-V without being trashy and certainly unique (aka non-traditional).

You still prefer that one? This full length lace gown on the right is calling my name! But without the veil. I love the ornate lace and the simple sheath style is timeless. I think the lace is on top of a thin nude fabric so the transparency factor is not too bad.

The full lace without the veil would be a great summer wedding dress. I think I was letting the veil cloud my thoughts. However, I still like the bottom right one a lot...and I think best. Like I said in the A vs. B thread though, I don't know what you look like so I can only decide based on the dress alone (and that's never the best thing!).

Also-- my email is mariawj at gmail dot com if you need that photographer...

Have you been able to try any of them on? I think that is when you really have the a-ha moment of which dress you were born to wear.

Of course, NOT! I'm going with a friend (also engaged) next week.

Ooo-- if they let you, take pictures of yourself in them, so you can REALLY see what it looks like and what you'll look like!

I agree that trying on the dress will clarify things. I'm a practical Grrrl, and I'd want to know which dress was easy to move in. Can you sit down in a very fitted strapless dress without your dress pulling down and your boobs spilling out the top? Will the one with the sheer bottom ride up and show more than you planned? Also, consider how the dress will photograph. Flash photography can make some dresses sheerer than they appear in natural light.

From the pics, I like the one on the right of this post best. But you need to try on the dresses first. After trying on dresses I made a complete 180 on my style. I had wanted a simple flowy body-skimming silk dress at first, but after trying them on, I saw that they were absolutely not good for my body type!

See if you can take pictures!

And I'm not sure why you consider these nontraditional. They look like normal wedding dresses to me, but maybe that's because I am completely nontraditional. Dunno ;-)

I will definitely take pictures - even if it's on the down low!

I love the one on the right! It is definitely memorable, beautiful, something I would pick if I weren't getting married at the beach!
